Shoka Sonjuku Academy

Western Honsh¨±

Although 'academy' conjures images of Ivy League schools, this humble schoolhouse is anything but that. In the 1850s, Yoshida Sh¨in lectured students here who would go on to play instrumental roles in the Meiji Revolution. Today the wooden buildings are worth a short visit, but require a guide to bring them to life.

The Circular Bus stops here.
