Mitsui Warehouse

Taipei

This faded red-brick warehouse has been carefully restored (70% of the bricks were cleaned and reused) and sits on a highway-flanked scrap of land opposite the North Gate. Dating from 1914, it's an attractive building, with the displays inside all in Mandarin. Do, however, have a try of the virtual-reality experience, which will have you loading baskets with butter and flour back in the old warehouse.
